February already? That's a good word to learn to spell! You'll be writing it a lot this month!
Welcome to week five of your remote learning LKS2! We loved seeing you at our science Teams meetings last week, you can't beat a bit of scientific chocolate! We were also REALLY impressed by your speech punctuation work, you'd obviously listened really well to the videos we made to help you. Well done!
As last week, we have set a maths lesson, an English lesson and another lesson for you to do every day. There's really no need to complete any other lessons than this each day but try your best to do what you can with the work that has been set. Keep practising your maths skills with Numbtots and TTRockstars, reading a book you enjoy and practising your spelling words for 5-10 minutes everyday too. You will have received details via Dojo at the end of last week about how to access the Epic reading site. We have chosen some books which we think you might enjoy - all linked to our theme for this term.

Send your completed work to your portfolio so your teacher can mark it. You can download the sheets from the website and work on them digitally if you want, then you can send them as a file to your portfolio if you would rather do it that way. If you are taking a photo of your completed work, please make sure we can see it clearly and remember to read your teachers comments and respond to them if you need to. Keep an eye out for the videos from your teacher on ClassDojo too to help you with your learning.

This week’s PE: LKS2 will be completing a sequence of PE sessions based on Boxfit. These lessons have been provided by Idsall Secondary School with help from Bridgnorth Boxing Academy. All lessons last approx. 25 - 45mins, including an element where pupils have to learn independently following teacher led activities. This week we are going to look at what happens when you add a suffix (that starts with a vowel) to words of more than one syllable. If the final syllable is stressed then the final consonant will be doubled. e.g. forget/forgetting.

LO – To further explore how fossils are formed and find out about the work of palaeontologists.
Today we are going to continue our work on fossils and look at a significant scientist in this field – Mary Anning. We are going to explore how her fossil findings were important and what a palaeontologist does.
Look at the presentation of Mary Anning that your teacher has put on Dojo. Watch the video of her life.
Can you create a fact file about her life? There is a template provided to help if you wish but you can do this in whatever way you like!
If you would like to do more, then there is also a fossil formation activity to do and a fossil quiz to take at the end to test your knowledge.
