Home Learning Week Four - 25th January
Welcome to week four of your remote learning LKS2! We loved seeing your role plays and playscripts last week, as well as your plate tectonic investigations! As last week, we have set a maths lesson, an English lesson and another lesson for you to do every day. There's really no need to complete any other lessons than this each day but try your best to do what you can with the work that has been set. Keep practising your maths skills with Numbtots and TTRockstars, reading a book you enjoy and practising your spelling words for 5-10 minutes everyday too.
Send your completed work to your portfolio so your teacher can mark it. You can download the sheets from the website and work on them digitally if you want, then you can send them as a file to your portfolio if you would rather do it that way. If you are taking a photo of your work, please make sure we can see it clearly and remember to read your teachers comments and respond to them if you need to. Keep an eye out for the videos from your teacher on ClassDojo too to help you with your learning.

This week’s PE: LKS2 will be completing a sequence of PE sessions based on Boxfit. These lessons have been provided by Idsall Secondary School with help from Bridgnorth Boxing Academy. All lessons last approx. 25 - 45mins, including an element where pupils have to learn independently following teacher led activities. This week we are looking at what happens to a word when we add suffixes.
When adding suffixes beginning with a vowel to words with more than one syllable, the consonant letter is often doubled. However.
it is not doubled when the syllable is unstressed. Have a look at your word list and see what happens when we add the suffixed -ed and -ing.

LO - To understand how sedimentary rock is formed.
In this lesson, we will learn about our third type of rock: sedimentary rock. We will look at the steps needed to make sedimentary rock and how fossils are formed in sedimentary rock. We will then learn what a palaeontologist is and identify some different fossils. For this lesson you will need a piece of paper and a pencil.

English - Guided Reading
This week we will be reading half of chapter 3 due to it being so long.
Your teacher will post a video on Friday morning on Dojo where they will be reading the first half of chapter 3 for you to listen to and use to help answer questions.

Today we are going to think a bit more about the work of Katsushika Hokusai and what you think of it. Pick one (or more if you want) of the pictures. Think about what you like and dislike about it and why? What about the colours he used? What parts of the picture are you interested in? Why? Use the question cards to help you.
You can present your work how you choose - maybe as a voice recording or video, talking about the piece of work you have chosen.
