Newsletter - January 14 (b)
Dear Parents,
Just a brief note to inform you of diary dates as promised and to keep you in touch with some initiatives that are taking place this term
Y6 Parents’ Consultation Meetings
We are holding separate Parents’ Consultation Meetings for parents of children in Y6. Details are being sent out separately.
KS2 Residential and Y6 SATs Meeting
The meeting to discuss the residential experience will take place on Tuesday, 11th February between 6.00 pm and 6.30 pm. This will be immediately followed by a meeting for parents of children in Y6 to discuss all of the issues relating to this year’s SATs.
Parents’ Consultation Meeting for children from Foundation Stage to Y5
The Parents’ Consultation meeting for all children apart from those in Y6 will be held on two Tuesdays – the 25th March and the 1st April. Consultations will be between 3.30 pm and 6.00 pm.
PTFA Disco
The Spring disco will be held on Thursday, 3rd April. Further details to follow.
School Website
Staff and governors are looking to up-grade and re-design the school website. The old website will continue to run with basic details until the new site is launched. It is hoped that this will take place either just before or just after the Easter holidays.
Icy and Wet Weather
I am hoping to have come to an arrangement with our new cleaner-in-charge to put down rock salt on icy mornings. This should mean that paths are clear before parents and children arrive. I am very grateful to Mark Spiers who has gritted the paths today in the event of the projected cold spell this week. Governors are aware of the large puddle that forms on the path leading to the KS1 playground in very inclement weather. Costings have been sourced to repair the damaged path, but these run into several hundreds of pounds and we are looking for cheaper alternatives. In the meantime, parents and children are welcome to use the play area outside of the classrooms to avoid the puddle. I would, however, be grateful if parents could wait for staff to open the gate before they take their children through. In extreme weather children will, of course be allowed in to school as soon as members of staff are on duty.
I look forward to seeing you at one of the “dairy date” events.
