Bilibili School, Kenya
St. Andrew's has had a strong link with Bilibili School in Western Kenya since 2011. There are a number of ways in which the two schools support each other. Mrs Jones, Mrs Rondel and Mr marsh have all been across to the school and the head teacher, Christopher Simiyu and Ben Mulati, a senior teacher, have both been over to Shifnal. The major project has been to promote the school's links with Green Acres Farm and use this experience to help the school set up its own farm. With a great deal of support from Mark Lea, the St. Andrew's Chairman of Governors, Bilibili pupils now run their own farm which harvests enough maize and beans for all children to have a free school meal every school day of the year. the following slides show what happened last year when staff from St. Andrew's helped to harvest that year's crop of maize. In the first few photos, other teachers from Lichfield Diocese are seen helping out - and, additionally, Mrs Faulkner whose grandson attends St. Andrew's and Mrs Marsh who both self-financed their trip to explore the work of IcFEM Mission - the Christian Group who provide the links between UK and Kenyan schools.
